My Tired Husband

Last Thursday commenced 2 weeks of pure agony for 2nd semester medical students. In 14 days, Josh has three practical exams, 5 shelf exams, and his final comprehensive exam on April 24th. That is 9 tests in 14 days (including weekends). Each of these tests takes anywhere from 0ne hour to three hours to complete. Josh has been studying everyday for about a month in preparation for these exams. He comes home every night completely exhausted.

Andy and Josh studying together!

Today was his first shelf exam. He walked in the door after his exam and didn't want to do anything but sit down and stare at the TV. He looked like an abused puppy. After lunch, Josh went into the other room to study, or so I thought. This is what I found!

Poor guy! Keep him in your prayers. He has 8 days until freedom!

A third barrel.

A few days ago, we received a THIRD barrel from my parents. Because of weight restrictions on the airlines, my parents needed to send a few heavier items to us for their visit in May. I thought using regular mail to send those items was silly since the cost would exceed the cost of sending an entire barrel. So, genius that I am, I convinced my parents to send us another barrel full of lots of goodies!! I love Christmas in March!

Thank you Mom and Dad. You are a lifesaver! The areobed is in perfect condition (Josh appreciated sleeping on that last night instead of on the couch... Just kidding!) Josh thanks you for the beef jerky and train mix! And the cranraisins are AMAZING! Everything is wonderful. We are very grateful. Can't wait to see you guys in a month.

We are always accepting visitors :)

How is the new blog?

Tell me what you think of the new layout!!

Flowers for no reason!

A few days ago, Josh came home holding a huge bouquet of flowers. I asked, "Who are those for?!" He has only bought flowers for special occasions, not for a random Tuesday! I didn't know how to react. I think Josh thought I didn't like them! I was wondering what he was up to. Just being a thoughtful husband!

I went for a walk the other day and took some pictures of the beach by our house.

This is our view from our back porch. It is nice to be reminded everyday that you live 100 yards from the ocean.

Other News:

Yesterday, Josh and I took an evening walk to the beach to discover huge waves!! Since we live on the Caribbean side of the island, the ocean is usually very calm (as you can see from the picture above). But a cold front brought waves up to 15 feet tall! As soon as Josh and I reached the beach and saw two surfers in the water, we immediately ran home to put our suits on. We called Andy as we were running back and told him to quickly join us at the beach. The three of us spent almost 2 hours fighting the waves, attempting to body surf but really just getting pummeled by each wave, getting scrapped by rocks and coral, and laughing extremely hard. It was probably the most fun we have had here on the island. We felt like little kids running up and down the beach. Observers were definitely questioning our decision to be in the water. The school even urged students to stay out of the ocean but that didn't stop us!!

Belated Birthday Package!

Today, I received a birthday package from Quinten and Kate. It was filled with lots of goodies!

How fun to recieve gifts even a month after my birthday! Makes the mail system in Dominica more tolerable. Thanks QT and Kate!

Sorry for my laziness!!

It has been almost an entire month since I last blogged. I am going to blame it on my school workload. Even though I spend the first half of the week worrying about getting my work done and actually start working around Thursday! Oh yeah, and I had last week completely off which I spent laying on the couch watching terrible daytime television. Very entertaining!

So really I have no excusses. Why is it that when you have all the time in the world, you can't seem to get anything done?!

Here is a cute picture of Rhaegan from Chrstimas!!
