Earthquake

Yesterday, Josh and I experienced our first earthquake. Which according to this map (the activity log of earthquakes in the Caribbean since 1990) happens quite frequently. I was home alone and Josh was in the library when the shaking began. It was a surreal experience. I even walked outside to see if anyone else was feeling what I was feeling!! Luckily, no one was hurt and our house is intact. This just continues our fun times here in Dominica!

4 Months

Today is our 4 month anniversary! Can you believe it has already been 4 months? Is this how we are going to feel after 30 years of marriage!? Josh told me last night that he doesn't want to get rid of me just yet so hopefully we can make it another 4 months!!!

We fly home in two weeks for Christmas and we are thrilled. In two weeks we can have Nina's pizza three times a day, COLD REAL MILK, a washing machine and dryer, hot hot shower, and some great home cooking. Oh yeah, and we get to see our family. I guess that is what it most important!! :))

Our First Thanksgiving

Our first Thanksgiving as a married couple
turned out better than expected. We were fortunate to find almost every Thanksgiving favorite here on the island. Courtney and I split the responsibilities. I took the stuffing, rolls, and pumpkin pie. It was so nerve-racking making a once a year meal. This pumpkin pie was the first pie I have ever made, aside from home and careers in school. I took an hour delicately handling the crust. I was so proud of how great the pies turned out. The stuffing and rolls were not quite as great as my mom's but I am sure with time and experience, I can improve!

Overall, it was a wonderful first Thanksgiving together. It was one of the best meals we have had here in Dominica.

Lunch at a fancy french restaurant with Ashley, Ryan, Marissa, Mike, Josh and me. We ordered steak for the first time in 3 months! It was nothing short of amazing.

Isn't this restaurant cool?!

Daylight Savings Time!

Hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep yesterday. We were quite confused because Dominica doesn't change time. However, since the cable TV is broadcasted from the USA, our showtimes were changed. Needless to say, we had a few moments of ......duh!

We are now 1 hour ahead of eastern standard time. Just keep that in mind if you think about calling us late at night!

We are still well. Josh has his second big exam tomorrow, which is ironically called Mini II. He feels more confident about this exam so hopefully straight A's are upon us! I am just staying busy with work. This weekend was Independance Day for Dominica. Most business are closed even through Monday. Meaning, the restaurant I work at will be packed with hungry stressed out students. YAY for ME!!!

I sent in my application for an online MBA school last week and if everything goes accordingly, I will be starting in January. I figured I have plenty of time to accomplish a masters degree since it usually takes just over a year. I also really miss school especially being around students everyday. I can't think of a better use of my time while I am here, besides helping Josh with his schooling!!
